Vauxhall Ampera is the European Car of the Year


In a continent where this crisis is hitting many countries and no doubt the auto industry has been in second place and the crisis has affected everything we now know in the industry. Likewise every automotive event held in the old continent attracts and leads the eye of all; in this case we have the choice of car the year for Europe than in this case has taken the Vauxhall Ampera model.



The Vauxhall Amera is the brother of the Chevrolet Volt; this car was voted the car of the year for Europe. The plug-in hybrid car and totaled 330 points, the second position took the Volkswagen Up!, in the last editions of the election had cars such as the Nissan Leaf and Volkswagen Polo.

 With its production and sales stalled in small amounts in the United States the Chevrolet Volt is going through a phase a bit complicated.  Its brother Vauxhall Ampera Opel Europe while celebrating the title of Car of the Year in Europe or also known as European Car of the Year.



The result was reported for days on the eve of the opening of the Geneva Motor Show. Vauxhall was founded in 1905 today is subsidiaries of General Motors and is dedicated to make cars more attractive to the market in general. Its headquarters is in the UK and among its most attractive models we have for example the sporty Vauxhall Tigra, Vauxhall Combo, Vauxhall Signum, among others.

The Vauxhall Ampera have achieved 330 points and beat six other finalists, they were: Volkswagen Up! with 281 points, Ford Focus with 256 points, Land Rover Evoque with 186 points, Fiat Panda with 156 points, Citroen DS5 with 144 points and finally the last place was taken by the Japanese Toyota Yaris with 122 points. The winner last year was the Japanese Nissan Leaf meanwhile Volkswagen Polo was the title of the year 2010 of the European choice.
