Ford B-Max presentation in Geneva!

Ford presents the new B-Max at the Geneva Motor Show, the CEO of Ford Motor Company, Alan Mulally introduced the minivan. The model brings an unprecedented door-opening system that does not require a central column. Ford was one of the first car manufacturers to introduce new products in the Swiss Exhibition which opened today. President and CEO of the company landed next to the new B-Max, this model was the main challenge of the brand to the European market this year, and the car starts to be sold in the region at the end of the year.

The minivan is known for having a single door; it brings more ease of access into the car. The solution was to remove the manufacturer of the central pillars of the car and reinforce doors to create 1.5 meters of space on each side in a safe for occupants. Another major highlight is the new 1.0-liter engine that uses three-cylinder EcoBoost technology and is also equipped with start / stop that shuts the engine stops short and turns it on by simply pressing the accelerator gently.

The engine has a turbocharger and direct fuel injection to reduce fuel consumption and emissions of carbon dioxide. According to Ford this motor is set to replace the conventional four cylinders. The technology was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year.

In addition to this we have two choices of engine gasoline engines, a 1.4-liter Duratec ninety horsepower and a 1.6-liter Duratec 105 horsepower, it is equipped with a box of six-speed automatic transmission. The Ford B-Max will be the lowest bid in Ford's European range within minivans including the C-Max, Grand C-Max, S-Max and Galaxy.

To create door Ford wanted a new practice and different from the rest and so got the biggest opening of the door within the category, since the model Opel Meriva 0.7 meters for example offers less format with its hinged door . "We set the challenge of imagining the car small", said design director Stefan Lamm, Ford of Europe. "People are struggling with the challenges of space to drive in town and we wanted to find a new solution for all these people," he said.

In developing the concept team spent several days researching drivers and their movements in the day to understand what they want in a compact car. Ford engineers then took up the challenge of building a safe and practical vehicle that meets your needs. Special high strength steel was used in the side of the vehicle to ensure protection five times higher than the conventional steel.

This made it possible to create a very strong structure without putting extra weight in the model. The process took many tests and analysis for each stage. According to Ford all tests were performed on computers of high performance so that everything is in order to launch the model.

The interior of the Ford B-Max was developed to take full advantage of the new system of doors. The rear seats and passenger seat can be folded to create a large loading dock, ideal for our weekend trips to put there bikes and flat objects. Ford's minivan will have the capacity to carry five passengers. "The concept of doors means that we can load items more truly great than 2.3 meters long all through the side doors, being unprecedented in these cars", says Ernst Reim interior lead designer of Ford of Europe.
