Kia Cee'd second generation


The manufacturer presents the second generation of Kia's Cee'd hatch, the model was developed exclusively for the European market, besides the family hatch will also have the premiere at this year's version wagon.



Kia launches world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland the second generation of its Cee'd model brings new external lines of the mark South Korea. The hatch original was released in 2007 after development in Europe and was at that time exclusively for this market, this was considered a paradigm shift in South Korea for the time. Now the company wants to repeat the spirit of transformation with the 2013 model.

 "This second generation model represents a major leap for the brand both in terms of capacity and sophistication of the vehicle as to give a new momentum in our sales in Europe," said Paul Philpott, the CEO of Kia Motors Europe. "Since launching the Cee'd family has already registered more than 430,000 sales in Western Europe alternate public perception of our brand and laying the groundwork for a series of new Kia models across a wide army of segments in the market," Philpott says.

 The new Kia cee'd European hits stores in the second quarter of 2012 and will play an even more significant in driving sales of Kia in Europe according to the manufacturer. Other versions of the car and the wagon also presented at the Geneva Auto Salon will be available again this year.



The new Kia Cee'd is longer and far lower than its predecessor, giving the five-door hatchback a more sporty. The total length of the new car is 4.31 meters, making it fifty millimeters more than the previous generation. The height was reduced by ten millimeters being now 1.470 meters. Despite being based on an entirely new platform model is 2.65 meters wheelbase one of the largest segment C.

The visual impact is further extended by the wheels 17 and 18 inches available in the car. The new Kia Cee'd will be produced exclusively in the Kia factory in Zilina in Slovakia. This will have a range of ten colors including five new and will be among the first models to be on the hood emblem of the new Kia.

The South Korean model is available with a vast range of engines offer outputs from 90 to 135 horsepower. In most of Western Europe, we will have two petrol engines: a 1.4-liter MPI and a 1.6-liter GDI producing 100 horsepower and 135 horsepower respectively. Besides this there are two engine options WGT 1.4-liter diesel rated at 90 hp and 1.6 VGT with two calibrations, one of 110 horses and one of 128 horsepower. 

Some markets in Europe also are offering a 1.6-liter MPI petrol than 130 horsepower. Within the range Kia bet that the 1.6-liter diesel will be the choice among customers. It develops 128 horsepower and 26.5 kgfm of torque. According to Kia's version accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in less than eleven seconds. The fuel consumption is 24.3 miles per gallon in combined cycle of 31.5 miles per gallon in cars equipped with EcoDynamics technology. CO2 emissions are 97 grams per kilometer.


All the motors will be offered with the manual or automatic option of broadcast of six velocities. Depending on the version the GDI 1,6 liters will also be available with the new Kia to broadcast of six velocities and double clutch DCT that improves the efficiency of fuel and provides smoother changes of the changes.
