It is the strongest ever used BMW engine that makes the new
BMW M5 (F10) for a mighty swipe. The standard 560 hp G-Power ranged far from
the tuner and the fast performance saloon helped to even more power and more
speed. There are also a new chassis, wheels and a weight-optimized ceramic
brake system to increase the driving enjoyment even further.
The electronic performance of G-Power is a noticeable
increase in peak power reaching the engine, without compromising the health and
the thermal stability. Of course, all standard engine protection and diagnostic
functions of the engine control unit are maintained to full extent.
From the factory makes the 4.4-liter V8 engine with twin power
turbo already powerful 560 hp and 680 Nm of maximum torque. G-Power increased
the capacity of the power to 640 hp and 777 Nm of torque. But that's just the
beginning, because the makers have been working diligently on the new M5
Hurricane II, whose predecessor generated no less than 800 hp and got a top
speed of 372 km / h in 2008, the world record for the fastest sedan.
Modification of the course will benefit the performance of
the new BMW M5. The value for the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h is now checked
off in just 3.9 seconds and disappears from 0 to 200 km / h takes 11.9 seconds.
By comparison, in the series it is 4.4 seconds for the sprint to 100 km whether
or not geared to increase output torque effect on the top-speed, shared with
non-G-Power.
As a basis for the first extra power the new BMW M5 is an
electronic performance enhancement with the name "G-Power Bi-Tronic"
- no standard software, but an individually tailored solution to the engine.
Among other things, at G-Power, the parameters for fuel quantity and ignition
timing in dependence on the standard of the engines re-determined. In addition,
a moderate increase of the supercharging pressure.
In addition to performance, G-Power also looked after the
sound of the BMW M5 F10. The G-Power full stainless steel system helps 4-pipe
sports rear muffler with its 4 x 100 millimeters measured tailpipes BMW M5 F10
thanks to the so-called "Deeptone" technology to a voluminous and
powerful sound.
Chassis side is the 21-inch "G-Power Silverstone
RS" forged wheel in the eye, with the Michelin tires in size 265/30 on the
front axle and fitted 305/25 on the rear axle. Due to the typical G-Power
twin-spoke design wheels put immense emphasis on the body of the BMW M5 F10.
The negative acceleration occurs at G-Power is not too
short, because even without a power increase, the standard brake system with
high load to lose braking power. Accompanied by a moving braking point is
referred to as so-called fading effect. To remedy this situation, the ceramic
brake system from G-Power.
On the exterior design of G-Power has not yet been put in
hand. But that's not really necessary: already standard in the BMW M5 F10
shows as a powerful athlete whose appearance and temperament shape understatement.
Meanwhile, the concise modeled body components provide a sophisticated
aerodynamics, pass by the air resistance unimpressed, but also generate
downforce.
